A working day in the Nahlin's spring
23/03/2012 09:00-15:00

Nahalin is a Palestinian village located in the Bethlehem Governorate, southwest of Bethlehem in the West Bank, between the eastern and western separation fence at the Gush Etzion area.

In the village 7,000 inhabitants, Nahalin is subjected under severe planning strangulation, being surrounded by the settlements: Betar Illit, Neve Daniel, and Rosh Tzurim, the planned settlement Gvaot, will completely block Nahalin in the south, In addition, the village has been suffering for years from roadblocks, house demolitions and land confiscation.

The sewage of Betar Ilit, a huge ultra-Orthodox settlement, (which doubled its size over the last decade), sometimes runs into the wadi, polluting the Nahalin spring. Nowadays the spring and the pool are dirty. Since the water is used to irrigate the fields, the Nahalin village residents are exposed to sanitary danger.

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the "Combatants for Peace" movement to the villagers, on Friday, 23/3 we will join them, now in the second time, to help cleaning and renovating the surrounding area, and an encounter with the village residents.

This is an "internal" activity of Jerusalem-Bethlechem CFP regional group.
