Replanting Olive Tree the Occupation Uprooted
On Friday Feb.22,2019, the southern group in Combatants for Peace held a joint action with US based organization “Rabies for Human rights” and planted olive trees on lands owned by Palestinian farmers from the village of Um al-Khier in Yatta area, southern West Bank.
Last month, activists from CFP and Rabies for Human rights planted olive tree on the same location but occupation forces came and uprooted the young olive trees the activists have planted.
“Our action today comes to support Palestinian farmers staying on their land in face of the occupation policies aimed at confiscating these lands to build more settlements.” said Adam Rabee, the Palestinian coordinator of activities in CFP.
Since the start of 2019 CFP has focused its actions on area C of the West, Bank to support Palestinian land owners facing the occupation polices aimed at forcing them out. This year is witnessing an increased wave of army and settlers attacks targeting Palestinian farmers and residents of area C that makes more than 80% of the West Bank.
